Mr. Raymond Ray Baer, 48, of Thurmont, died on Friday July 1, 2011, at N.I.H. Bethesda.

Born on October 29, 1962 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Steiner Nelson and Mary Esta Stup.

Raymond spent his entire life farming SM Farms, the family farm. He enjoyed working the land, gardening and shooting pool. He was a member of the American Pool Association where he was on the All Stars team and a member of the 8 ball and 9 ball team. He was also a member of the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers.

Surviving are his sisters; Shirley Acres of Nashua, NH, Gloria Barr of Walkersville, Mary Ann Baer of Thurmont, and brothers; Donald, James, David, Robert all of Thurmont and Michael Baer of Walkersville. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and aunts. He will be remembered by his special friends, Steve Stull and Doug Sunday.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Frederick County, N.I.H and Dr. Gregory Rausch and his staff.

Friends may call on Wednesday July 6, 2011 from 12:00 noon until time of funeral services at 1:00pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont. Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will follow in Utica Cemetery.
